Coming together is a beginning,
Keeping together is progress,
Working together is success,
-Henry Ford
While legislation SB 1052 which seeks to grow the collaboration in education, research, and service among Maryland Universities only took effect three months ago, several programs already lead the way in operating under strategic partnerships. Among these outstanding programs is our very own MLAW program. Though only in its third year, MLAW is growing rapidly and currently has 320 enrollees and counting. It continues to strengthen the network between UMCP and the Carey School of Law with 75 College Park graduates now among the law school’s first year class. Many of the professors within these partnership programs cross over between schools creating a collaborative environment impacting how students innovate, learn, and network. Special shoutout to the laurels mentioned in President Perman’s message: Taunya Banks, Martha Ertman, Leigh Goodmark, Danielle Citron, Paula Monopoli, Markus Rauschecker, Karen Rothenberg, Karen Czapanskiy, Robert Percival for their hard work, achievement, and continued collaboration with UMD’s MLAW Programs.
