MLAW begins 10th anniversary celebration at Busboys & Poets with event on immigrant justice.

Header 1 rep

On September 13th, 2023, MLaw Programs held their 10th anniversary celebration event on Immigrant Justice, "Justice for Immigrants; Law, Art, and Activism!"

The event featured stylings from Emory Diggs Trio and Senior Lecturer Brian Gillmore commemorating the 55th anniversary of the passage of the Fair Housing Act of 1968. The Fair Housing Act of 1968 prohibits discrimination in the rental, sale, or financing of housing based upon gender, race, skin color, national origin, religion, disability, or family status.

Throughout the semester, MLaw will hold nights of poetry, art, activism and music as part of MLaw's "Law, Art, and Activism" series. In addition, back again this fall is MLaw's "Lunch and Learn" series. "Lunch and Learn" is a virtual series that features various University of Maryland, College Park alumni and takes a deep dive into the legal career field and offers some advice to those interested.

Please consider joining MLaw programs in collaboration with Francis King Carey School of Law for an interdisciplinary study of the legal field, and public advocacy. Events are open to current, former and prospective MLaw students-- all are welcome.
