Christina Hagan BijouPh.D. Candidate Sociology The Ohio State University |
Christina specializes in social demography. She earned her master's degree from Ohio State and her bachelor's degree from the University of Maryland, College Park. Her research primarily focuses on racial health disparities with an emphasis on social exclusion. Focusing on Black Americans, Christina investigates the role of racism and other structural forms of exclusion in patterning health outcomes by race. She also examines health disparities across other populations including: genocidaires in Rwanda, women at high-risk of breast cancer, and women in rural Appalachia. |

Will is a 5th year Ph.D. student studying American Politics. His research interests include race and ethnic politics, public opinion, and political psychology. He holds a B.A. in Political Science from Michigan State University, and an M.A. in Government and Politics from the University of Maryland. College Park. His dissertation focuses on how Black voters evaluate threats in American politics, and how these threats affect Black Americans' voting behavior and support for racial policies. |

Sohana NasarinP h.D. Candidate Philip Merrill College of Journalism University of Maryland, College Park |
Sohana's research interests are alternative media, activism, climate change and visuals. Her dissertation focuses on the journalism and activism of the youth climate movements in the United States that received momentum in 2019. Her scholarship has been recognized through multiple awards, including top student papers at different regional and national flagship conferences in the field of journalism. UMD recognized her excellent track record as an instructor of record by awarding her Graduate School's Outstanding Teaching Assistant Award for 2019-2020. |
