On November 14th, UMD's Mock Trial team won the 26th Annual Yale Invitational tournament, one of the strongest fields on the American Mock Trial Association Invitational Circuit.
Congratulation to everyone on the team! In particular, to sophomores members of JLT, Bella Grant, and Ilhaam Lakhani.
Here are their thoughts on the team's victory:
Ilhaam: "The tournament really helped me gain invaluable skills regarding trial advocacy and our hard work paid off. Being able to compete against schools like Penn State, George Washington, Columbia University, and Georgetown and stand our ground against them was an amazing feeling!"
Bella: " This tournament was an amazing experience for me, and I learned so much from competing against other highly skilled teams. We put in so much work preparing for this competition, and I am so happy and proud that it paid off!"
