Thank you for your interest in becoming a Law and Society Ambassador! Our goal for the ambassadors is to further the mission of MLAW, which is to help students think about law like social scientists and shine a light on how law functions in society. The main function of MLAW ambassadors is to be the liaisons between the staff and students in the program. Ambassadors will connect with students to provide recommendations for curricular change and development directly to the MLAW Programs faculty and staff. They will use their leadership within the minor program and on campus to organize events and programs to connect students within the minor. Additionally they will collaborate on projects with the Justice and Legal Thoughts Program, which is the scholars living-learning program of MLAW.
Things required to be an ambassador include:
- Must be accepted and enrolled in the Law and Society Minor.
- Attending ALL MLAW Events unless prior permission is obtained.
- Ability to attend ambassador meetings a few times a month.
Skills Expected as an Ambassador:
- Ability to effectively collaborate with faculty, other ambassadors, and students.
- Efficient communication skills.
- Independently motivated.
- Proactivity.
- Good time management/flexible schedule.
- Great problem-solving skills.
