Calling all legal scholars: MLAW is looking to fill seats in MLAW 378J and MLAW 358J for the Spring 2024 semester. Francis King Carey School of Law Professors Dianne Hoffman and Natalie Ram will instruct 358J and 378J respectively.

MLAW 358J - "This course will allow students to examine the policy, legal
and ethical components of a number of critical issues in health care delivery. A variety of teaching techniques, including case studies, reading and discussion of classic literature, role plays, and audiovisual clips will be used to explore such topics as the professional/patient or client relationship, professional discipline by licensing boards, medical malpractice, rights of patients to refuse treatment and demand treatment, ethical issues in human subjects research, informed consent and substituted consent in medical decision-making, health care reform and regulation of various aspects of the
health care system."
MLAW 378J - "This course explores the relationship between ethics
and law in the context of health care, public health, biomedical research, and biotechnology. Students will review and apply moral and legal concepts to historical and contemporary controversies in various topic areas and will consider how ethics and law can help us clarify the debates and resolve difficult issues."
